You will need a valid Florida HHA certificate or CNA license, current CPR certification (from an accepted provider — American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety & Health Institute), annual in-services, a physical exam, liability insurance, Social Security card, and valid ID/work authorization. We accept CPR certifications from the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, and the American Safety and Health Institute. CPR cards must be current and valid for 2 years. Note: CPR certifications from certain schools are not accepted — please see our Requirements section for the full list of schools not accepted.

Complete the digital employment application on this website, then email all required documents to alfa.nursing@yahoo.com. You can also bring originals to our office at 1500 N.W. 89th CT, Suite 205, Doral, FL 33172 during business hours. After we review your documents, we will contact you to schedule your orientation.

Our orientation runs over 5 days and covers HIPAA, infection control, emergency procedures, documentation requirements, patient rights, scheduling procedures, and a competency evaluation. It is designed to set you up for success and ensure you are fully prepared to provide excellent care from day one.

Florida law requires annual in-services for active caregivers. The required topics are: OSHA, HIV/AIDS, HIPAA, Infection Control, Medical Error Prevention, Alzheimer's Disease, Domestic Violence, Elder Abuse/Neglect, Child Abuse, and Assistance with Self-Administration. These must be renewed each year to remain active in our registry.

Yes, as an independent contractor you may work for other employers. However, you must disclose any outside employment that could present a conflict of interest, and you may not solicit Alfa Nursing Services' clients directly. Please review the dual employment and conflict of interest policies in your employment agreement.
